BankAmerica Corp. will not restore its dividend on common stock this year, according to A. W. Clausen, chairman, chief executive and president of BankAmerica. The San Francisco-based banking company reduced and then suspended its dividend on common stock in early 1986, although it has continued to pay dividends on preferred stock. The failure to pay a dividend was a major source of stockholder irritation at the company’s annual meeting in May.
