Senate OKs $7.2-Billion Fund for Nuclear Mishaps

WASHINGTON —
The Senate approved and sent to the White House Friday legislation to increase the liability of nuclear plant operators to about $7.2 billion in the event of an accident.
The bill, which would raise the limit from the current $700 million, was approved by the House earlier.
