East Germany won 6 gold medals out...

East Germany won 6 gold medals out of 14 finals at the World Junior Rowing Championships at Milan, Italy.

The U.S. team won only one bronze medal. It was won by Micheal Guerrieri, Donal Ryan, Derek Sulger, Jason Scott, Scott Munn, Chris Sahs, Bill Cooper, John Cooper and cox Timothy Evans in the men’s eight.

The five-day championships for juniors and lightweight, which ended Sunday, do not qualify any rowers for the Olympics in Seoul.
