Local News in Brief : Subcontractor Sentenced
The former owner of an aerospace firm was sentenced Monday to 366 days in prison for fraudulently overbilling on subcontracts for the B-1 bomber.
Los Angeles federal Judge Stephen Wilson also ordered Robert F. Butler to pay a $240,000 fine and perform 1,500 hours of community service as a condition of five years probation after his release.
Butler, former owner of Butler Industries Inc. of Valencia, pleaded guilty in March to conspiring to submit false claims to the government and helping to prepare and then submitting a false corporate tax return.
Butler was accused of overcharging the Air Force $200,000 in time spent on revised orders for B-1 bomber parts.
