Mitterrand to Meet With Reagan in Sept.

WASHINGTON — The White House announced today that French President Francois Mitterrand has accepted an invitation to meet with President Reagan on Sept. 29 during an official working visit to the United States.
“This visit continues a tradition of close consultation between the U.S. and French leaders,” White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said. “The purpose of the visit is to discuss major alliance issues and to exchange views on other areas of common interest.”
