The Los Angeles City Council adopted a series of recommendations Tuesday that it hopes will halt “runaway” film and TV production but stopped short of creating a city film commission composed of film industry leaders, Mayor Tom Bradley and others. The council hopes to simplify municipal codes and enhance interaction with the film industry. The commission concept, which came from the city’s Filming Task Force, will be reconsidered when questions on funding are answered. “The (entertainment) industry is important to us,” City Council President John Ferraro said before the council voted 10-0 in favor of the recommendations.
