A group of Florida residents upset over Bruce Kimball’s participation in the U.S. Olympic diving trials held a silent protest today as he began competing.

Seven people, who described themselves as friends of the victims of the Aug. 1 accident in which Kimball’s car plowed into a group of teen-agers in Brandon, Fla., killing two, arrived as the preliminaries of the men’s 3-meter springboard competition began. Kimball is free on bail.
