Bush, Quayle and GOP Convention
In his Pollyanna speech to the Republican Convention President Reagan stated, “Facts are stubborn things.” Indeed they are!
In spite of his prior pledges, his Administration allowed the following economic failures to occur:
- Highest national debt in history.
- Greatest negative trade imbalance.
- Spiraling loss of good-paying industrial jobs for lower-paying service-type jobs.
- Record failures of banking institutions with hundreds more considered insolvent or close to it.
And all the while “George was there.”
