Bush, Quayle and GOP Convention

No doubt Bush loves his “little brown” grandchildren. And it’s wonderful that his son is married to a Mexican-born woman. But those aren’t the issues. As his latest gaffe demonstrates, Bush and his advisers are more concerned with appearances than substance.
If he is really interested in capturing the so-called “Hispanic vote,” then he needs to define his stand on bilingual education and explain what he was doing when the Reagan Administration tried to roll back civil rights.
The real question is why we didn’t hear about the “little brown ones” until election time?
