Alan McCormack crossed the finish line second but was declared the winner of the 13th stage of the Coors International bicycle race, the Vail Village Criterium, after judges said leader Bob Roll swerved in the stretch. The call was being disputed by Roll.

Earlier, Andy Hampsten won his second straight Vail Pass Time Trial and moved into third place overall, about 1 minute 45 seconds behind Davis Phinney and about 1:29 behind Alex Stieda.

Bunki Bankaitis-Davis of the U.S. Olympic Team edged past two other racers in the stretch to win the fifth stage of the women’s race.
