GOP Ad
I find the recent TV ads sponsored by the Republicans, depicting a happy, playful, white child as evidence of peace and prosperity, quite repugnant.
It is highly hypocritical of the Republicans, who haven’t done a thing for child care, prenatal care for poor women, education or any other family-related issue, to use a child as evidence of their supposed success.
Perhaps to balance the picture they should have used a latchkey child whose parents both have to work to make ends meet, thereby inflating the employment rolls, or the child of an unemployed parent, not receiving unemployment checks who does not show up in the unemployment figures. What about the vacant, hungry look in the eyes of a homeless child living on the street?
Oh, I forgot--President Reagan doesn’t believe there are homeless people, poverty, or real unemployment. How silly of me!
