Alpharel, a Camarillo maker of computer data-storage systems, has named John A. Fasching president and chief executive to succeed interim chief executive M. Dean Johnston, who will report to Fasching. Alpharel also appointed Robert J. Shea to fill the newly created post of executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

Fasching, 54, formerly was president and chief executive of IBIS Systems, a Westlake Village producer of electronic data-storage systems. Shea, 56, previously was chairman and chief executive of Formative Technologies, a Pittsburgh company that also makes computerized storage systems.

Fasching’s appointment is the latest in several management changes at Alpharel since December, when Michael J. McGovern was ousted as chairman and chief executive. However, McGovern was re-elected to the board in May when shareholders replaced the existing directors.
