China Calls Reservists--but Not All Answer

When China’s army calls, its soldiers don’t always answer.
The official Liberation Army Daily said Wednesday that when 50,000 reservists were told to assemble for an emergency exercise within three days, 11,500 of them failed to arrive.
The three-day exercise in northwest China’s Gansu province last week was China’s first province-wide mobilization maneuver of reserve forces under simulated battle conditions, the paper said.
