Assets of the nation’s 449 money market mutual funds increased $369.2 million to $269.06 billion for the week ended Wednesday, the Investment Company Institute of Washington reported. The increase followed a sizable gain of $3 billion in the prior week. The said assets of general purpose funds rose $17.6 million to $85.37 billion, institutional funds advanced $455.9 million to $69.68 billion and assets of broker-dealer funds dropped $104.3 million to $114 billion.
