Share

The founder of Los Angeles-based Entrepreneur magazine was sentenced Friday to three years’ probation, fined $5,000 and ordered to perform 500 hours of community service for being an ex-convict in possession of a gun.

John Leonard Burke, 50, of Pacific Palisades, also known as Chase Revel, was convicted more than 20 years ago of two bank robberies and three attempted bank robberies in Houston and Las Vegas.

He pleaded guilty in May to being an ex-convict in possession of a gun in a plea bargain with the district attorney’s office in which perjury and bomb-related charges were dismissed.
