President Reagan continues to suffer from mild hearing loss in his left ear and moderate hearing loss in his right ear, his physicians reported Friday.

“There has been no change in the President’s hearing deficit in the past 10 years,” White House physician Dr. Larry Mohr said in a statement issued after Reagan’s annual hearing examination. The exam was conducted at the President’s penthouse suite in the Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The statement said Reagan’s two hearing aids also were checked and “are working perfectly.”

Earlier Friday, White House spokesman Marlin Fitzwater said the President’s allergist had determined that there has been no essential change in his sensitivity to pollen. Reagan was examined Thursday by his longtime allergist, Dr. Ralph Bookman, and the checkup “was routine,” the spokesman said.
