A 31-year-old Cameron Park salesman whose wife is overdue expecting their third child was identified today as the winner of the $6.54-million jackpot in the Saturday Lotto drawing of the California Lottery.

Lottery spokesman John Schade said David Vicari said he wouldn’t be available for the usual lottery news conference with jackpot winners because his wife, Marjorie, was overdue. Schade said that when Vicari brought in his winning Lotto ticket, he told lottery officials that he bought only one Lotto ticket Saturday “on a whim” in Amador County and that he used the quick-pick feature to select six numbers for him at random.
