Eastern Air Lines appealed a federal court ruling that has stopped it from laying off 4,000 employees, saying the court ignored the facts, made unsupported findings and dealt with issues irrelevant to the case. The filing, made to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, asked that a ruling by District Judge Barrington Parker be overturned. It asked for a temporary stay of Parker’s ruling and an emergency appeal.
