Local News in Brief : Fumes Force Chevron Evacuation
Three Chevron employees were given oxygen and treated at a hospital Thursday after fumes forced the evacuation of 200 from the administration building of the oil company’s El Segundo refinery.
Chevron spokesman Rod Spackman said the source of the odors, which smelled like natural gas, has not been determined. “It is not a major incident, but certainly one we want to make sure we understand,” he said.
After about an hour the fumes were no longer detected and employees returned to work.
