Ban Firing at Will

Share

I work in human resources and I know firsthand the conflict between surviving in these economic hard times and the wish to be fair to all employees.

There are so many regulations imposed upon us to protect the worker that we are forced to pay full-time salaries to dozens of people simply to track our compliance on these issues. Frequently, the person who benefits from these safeguards is a below-average employee. These employees are reducing our competitiveness in today’s global marketplace.

I don’t believe that most people are aware of how precarious our status as a first-class world power really is now. There is very little room for mediocrity. The reason we need employment at will is because of the death of the work ethic in the United States.
