Owner Sees New Car Demolished by Train
Associated Press
LANCASTER, Pa. — A car with only 358 miles on its odometer got stuck on railroad tracks early today and was demolished by a 75-car freight train while its owner watched helplessly, police said.
The train pushed the 1988 Hyundai, bought last week by Stephen E. Shaeffer, about 40 feet after the car got stuck in an 18-inch drop while crossing the tracks. No one was hurt.
