And in Danbury, Conn., a judge sentenced Arthur Anderson--a self-described “TV addict”--to two years’ probation Wednesday for chopping down a neighbor’s majestic oak tree to improve reception for his satellite dish. Superior Court Judge Thomas West also warned Anderson not to venture onto the property of the tree owner, Charles Marriner. The judge didn’t address Marriner’s request that Anderson’s satellite dish be taken away from him during the probationary period. Still pending: Marriner’s civil suit seeking $37,000 for the lost oak.
