Council OKs Spending $10,000 to Celebrate City’s Ethnic Diversity

Glendale City Council members agreed this week to spend $10,000 to promote ethnic diversity in Glendale during October.

About $6,000 will go toward banners to be strung on light poles along Brand Boulevard between Colorado Street and Glenoaks Boulevard, said Madalyn Blake, community development director.

Blake said the remaining $4,000 will pay for a photo display of Glendale residents “of both sexes, all ages and ethnicities going about their daily work and play.”

Blake said the photos will be displayed first in City Hall and then will be moved throughout the month to the city library and some businesses.
