One of four former workers from the city of Poway fired for selling drugs on the job has been ordered to perform 100 hours of volunteer work.

Michael Meyer, 25, of Escondido, was fined $100 Tuesday and sentenced to 120 days in jail. The sentence was stayed until a review of his sentence Jan. 9.

San Diego Municipal Judge Lisa Guy-Schall placed Meyer on three years’ probation, ordered him to register as a narcotics offender and to be tested for drugs every 30 days.

Meyer pleaded guilty June 30 to a felony charge of possession of about $75 of cocaine for sale. A charge of selling $50 worth of marijuana to an undercover agent was dismissed.

A co-defendant, Donald Stuart, 22, of Escondido, was sentenced Aug. 22 to 90 days in a work furlough program and was fined $300. He was ordered to stay away from Meyer and narcotics users.

A third fired worker, Richard Francabandera, 41, of Poway, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a charge of selling $25 worth of methamphetamine to an undercover agent.

Superior Court Judge Herbert Hoffman set a trial date for Nov. 21.

The last co-defendant, David Andreason, 33, of Poway, will go on trial separately on Sept. 28.
