Orange County, home of the free and the land of the brave. Be careful and put an American flag on your car, or you may be accused of subversion.
Orange County, the farm country with the cheap labor. You don’t need a study to know that Orange County labor is paid less than Torrance, less than the San Fernando Valley and probably less than the San Gabriel Valley.
You don’t need a study to know Orange County had more Vietnam War deferments per capita than the rest of the state. You don’t need a study to know that its people under 45 owe more money than anyone else in the state. You don’t need a study to know that its citizens have less empathy for the less fortunate than anyone else in the state.
Orange County, with its credit card affluence, should observe people from the San Francisco area with means. The worst thing in the world is not to have the Mercedes, on which the payments are due, misfire.
