Gene Upshaw, head of the National Football League Players Assn., acknowledged the players’ union is the target of an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, but dismissed as “ridiculous” a report that the probe centers on his alleged illegal use of union funds.
Upshaw called the investigation “routine.”
The Boston Globe, quoting unnamed sources, revealed the Labor Department investigation Sunday.
