American Mobile Systems said it will name Richard Somers, 50, to the new position of vice chairman. William Young, 39, formerly the company’s chief financial officer, will replace Somers as president and chief executive. Both men are scheduled to take office Oct. 1. American Mobile Systems is a Sherman Oaks-based operator of two-way mobile radio systems.

Datametrics has named Sidney E. Wing president and chief executive officer. Wing, 57, was president of Resdel Engineering in Arcadia. Datametrics is a Chatsworth maker of printers for the military.

Litton Industries named Darwin D. Beckel vice president for program management at Litton’s Guidance and Control Systems division in Woodland Hills.

Beckel, 43, succeeded Larry Frame, who was promoted to division president. The division makes navigation and guidance systems for ships and planes. Beckel joined Litton as a field engineer in 1968.

HemaCare Corp., a Sherman Oaks-based provider of blood products and services, announced that Hal I. Lieberman will become the company’s president and chief executive officer Sept. 19. Lieberman, 39, was vice president of sales and marketing at MEDIQ Mobile Services, a mobile CAT scan and diagnostic imaging service in Chatsworth.

For the year ended Dec. 31, 1987, HemaCare lost $336,632 on revenue of $3.4 million. But for the first half of 1988, HemaCare earned a profit of $155,342 on sales of $2.2 million.
