Supervisors on AIDS Prevention

Our beloved supervisors, ever the ones to take the decisive stand, have once again shown their pluck. They have decided to essentially do nothing about the spread of AIDS among prostitutes and junkies.

Refusing the minimal intervention of allowing social workers to distribute condoms and bleach kits, along with education, to L.A.’s underworld, our intrepid leaders commission another study.

I’m sure they are smarter than our health professionals, and will find an inoffensive way to convince prostitutes and drug users of the error of their ways. Meanwhile, AIDS will continue to drain our health system and creep into the general population.
