Pomona Valley : Home-Care Volunteers
Volunteers are being sought for a new federally funded community-sponsored effort to help homebound elderly or handicapped Pomona Valley residents.
The Senior Companion Program is seeking 30 volunteers who are at least 60 years old and living on fixed minimum incomes. The volunteers will earn $2.20 an hour working 20 hours a week visiting clients and helping with shopping, doctor visits and household chores.
The program serves Pomona, La Verne, Claremont, San Dimas, Diamond Bar and Walnut. Prospective volunteers may contact Mary Jean James at (714) 593-7511.
