Share

The city’s Chamber of Commerce has been named the top chamber in the nation for 1987 by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives. Ginny Acosta, director of membership development, said the award is the highest honor for which 750 chambers in the United States, Canada and Venezuela vie annually.

Criteria for the designation include innovative programs and at least a 10% increase in membership and membership dues.

The Monrovia chamber updates membership lists every 90 days and retained 92% of its membership from the previous year, Acosta said. The average retention for chambers is 60%.
