Downey : City Manager Given Raise
The Downey City Council on Tuesday approved a two-step raise for City Manager Don Davis that will boost his salary by 12% this year.
The council raised Davis’ salary by 6% from $82,368 a year to $87,312 retroactive to last July 1, the start of the current fiscal year. His salary will be increased another 6% to $92,556 beginning Dec. 26, according to a city report.
The raise was based on what city managers earn in comparable area cities, and the 4% to 5% cost-of-living raises given this year to others in city management.
