‘Shield’ Pact Approved

Share

Under a contract approved by the City Council on Tuesday, the city and the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce will split royalties from marketing of the city’s “shield” design, which depicts the distinctive sign marking entrances to the city.

The contract obligates city officials to approve all uses of the design to ensure the use of the logo meets the city’s quality standards. The contract does not specify what types of products would be considered, but it instructs the Chamber of Commerce to enter into contracts with manufacturers who agree to pay royalties for using the logo on their merchandise.
