George Bush and the Environment
In The Times I read that Bush “wore a broad smile” as he saw the horrible pollution in Boston’s harbor (Part I, Sept. 2). Easy to understand Bush’s glee at the garbage.
As a Reagan flunky he felt right at home, having been, for eight years, a key part of an Administration rotting with sleazy practitioners and self-proclaimed patriots--John Poindexter, Ollie North. “I didn’t know about that,” Bush would have us believe. Possibly true. He was busy at the time pledging allegiance to the flag.
But he does know about pollution, and when he can blame it on Michael Dukakis he loves the sight of foul garbage. So vote for honest George Bush--he’d rather see rot and be President!
