Sixteen Egyptians freed after five years in an Iranian jail arrived in Italy on Thursday but said 37 of their countrymen are still being held by Tehran.

The 16 were arrested in their fishing boat Aug. 22, 1983, in the Persian Gulf and accused of violating Iran’s territorial waters. They were jailed on charges of spying, Egypt’s ambassador to Italy, Khalifa Taher, told reporters.
