Apartheid and Promoting Tourism in South Africa

After reading the article, I was pleased to say the least. There isn’t very much positive press written about South Africa.

Although South Africa has its problems, just as any country does, the general public only hears one side of the problem. There hasn’t been very much news on what changes have been enacted to help stop the segregation--such as public transportation, new housing districts and public beaches that were once segregated.

If typical Americans were asked the question of whether they thought it was safe to travel to South Africa, many, if not all, would say no. In fact it is safe to travel there.

I am an American who has traveled to South Africa, and my views have changed with just one visit. It is a beautiful country in the midst of change, a change which I think will come to a positive end, maybe not tomorrow or next year, but it will resolve its problems its own way.
