A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church in Fullerton for the Rev. G. Russell Graham, a retired instructor at Fullerton College.

The Rev. Graham, who had been a philosophy, psychology and world religion instructor at the college for 30 years until his retirement in 1983, died Sunday at St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton following complications from surgery. He was 72.

An ordained Presbyterian minister, he joined the Fullerton College staff in the 1950s. He was an accomplished organist and played for many of the college’s commencements.

The minister was a native of East Orange, N. J., and grew up in New York City. He received his bachelor’s degree from Park College in Missouri and earned a divinity degree after advanced study at Union Theological Seminary in New York.

He is survived by a daughter, Janie Yeo of Brea; a son, David Russell Graham of Renton, Wash., and five grandchildren. Other survivors include two brothers and a sister.

Family members said a Fullerton College scholarship has been established in his name, and suggested that friends may donate through the Fullerton College Foundation. Expressions of sympathy also may take the form of donations to the New Hymnal Fund of the First United Methodist Church of Fullerton, family members said.
