California farmers earned $5.58 billion last year, maintaining the state’s traditional position as the nation’s top agricultural producer. The Department of Agriculture reported that California also led in net income per farm, averaging $73,790. Arizona was second at $71,492. In terms of income earned per acre, California ranked seventh with $174. The national average was $46.
