A six-story apartment building collapsed in a wealthy area of Monterrey, Mexico, killing a man and his baby son and leaving at least four people trapped in the rubble, officials said. At least four people were rescued after the collapse, a Nuevo Leon state official said. Authorities said the building may have been weakened by Hurricane Gilbert, which hit this northern industrial city Sept. 17 and caused widespread flooding that killed at least 140 people in the area. However, other officials said the building was reportedly leaning to one side six months ago.
