Foster Poultry Farms of Livingston, Calif., which produces 140 million chickens a year, will increase production in California to meet what the company called continuing increased consumption of chickens and turkeys. The family-owned concern said it plans to build an additional processing plant in the Central Valley. This would increase capacity by 30 million fryers a year, expandable eventually to 80 million. The new facilities will add about 500 employees to the present payroll of more than 5,000.
