Santa Monica : Commissioner Pay Is OKd
The Santa Monica City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to approve an ordinance to pay city planning commissioners $25 for each commission meeting they attend. Previously, planning commissioners were unpaid.
The ordinance limits the amount commissioners are paid to a maximum of $100 a month, but includes a yearly increase equal to the consumer price index for the area.
Santa Monica voters authorized the ordinance in June by passing Proposition O.
