UCLA received more than $102 million in private gifts during the 1987-88 fiscal year to set a record for the UC system, Chancellor Charles E. Young announced.

The total raised in the 12 months ending June 30 was $102.7 million, Young said, making the Westwood campus the first to receive more than $100 million in private funding during a fiscal year.

The gifts ensure that UCLA “will have the necessary resources to maintain and strengthen its position as one of the nation’s premier research universities,” Young said.
