TOXIC PLANT PROFILE: DAFFODIL

DAFFODIL (Amaryllis family): The bulbs of plants in the Amaryllis family are poisonous if eaten. Three of the most popular garden flowers in the family--daffodil, narcissus and jonquil--have bulbs that can cause severe gastroenteritis, vomiting and purging, and sometimes nervous symptoms, including trembling and convulsions.
