Legal Entities
What a world. A Jamaican wins gold (temporarily) for Canada and an Indian hostage is released as a good-will gesture toward the United States. That is, the one is a citizen of Canada, the other a permanent resident of the U.S. Legal status is emphasized. Increasingly we’re legal entities and political and economic men in this best of all possible universes. Great. But so much for our cultures and our whole humanity.
