Bic Lighters That Refuse to Go Out Are Recalled

Bic is recalling its new regular-size fixed-flame cigarette lighters because some may fail to extinguish, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Friday.

The lighters were sold in a plastic pouch or tray and labeled “with fixed flame.” They can be identified by the lack of the small wheel used on some lighters to adjust the flame height.

Bic Mini fixed-flame lighters and Bic regular-size adjustable lighters, which represent 98% of Bic lighters on the market, are not involved in the recall, the commission said.
