Less than two weeks after Alpha Microsystems of Santa Ana announced plans to purchase Doelz Networks of Irvine, the deal is off.

“After much deliberation, our board of directors elected not to exercise the purchase option of Doelz Networks,” Alpha Microsystems Chairman Robert B. Hitchcock said in a statement Tuesday.

Officials from Alpha Micro and Doelz were unavailable for comment Tuesday.

When the deal was announced Sept. 29, Hitchcock said the acquisition of Doelz would allow Alpha Micro “to diversify and grow by acquiring a complementary technology.”
