DAPHNE (Daphne mezereum): This deciduous shrub, favored for its sweet scent and early flowers, is often grown in borders and rock garden pockets. The bark and berries are poisonous if eaten, and can cause vomiting, burning sensations of the mouth, ulceration of the oral mucosa, diarrhea, stupor, weakness, convulsions and death.
