Meeting the Running Mates' Mates

Re the Oct. 5 article on Mrs. Lloyd Bentsen (by Elizabeth Mehren and Betty Cuniberti):

B. A. Bentsen talks about the many activities she and her husband share. One is hunting in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She says "not large animals, but little birds, particularly white-winged doves and quail--of course as population control for the birds. Poor little things, you know they won't last."

My question is addressed to Sen. Bentsen: Is this one of the methods you advocate for cleaning up the environment?
