Three American physicians who visited Kurdish refugee camps in Turkey confirmed previous U.S. findings that Iraq had used chemical weapons against its ethnic Kurdish minority in northern Iraq, prompting thousands to flee, a spokesman said in Ankara. Dr. Robert Mullan Cook-Deegan, representing the Boston-based Physicians for Human Rights, also accused Turkey of covering up Iraq’s use of chemical weapons. The other two physicians were Dr. Howaro Hu and Asfandiar Shukri. Iraq rejected their findings.
