LAS VEGAS —
The main runway at McCarran International Airport was closed for two hours Tuesday after authorities found a charge of dynamite on the runway’s final approach path.
Planes were diverted to a second runway and no flights were delayed, airport officials said.
Members of the Las Vegas Fire Department bomb squad detonated the dynamite without incident as a crowd of onlookers watched from a safe distance.
