Local News in Brief : Westminster : Pacific Bell Executive Named to School Board

Ron Morgan, an account executive with Pacific Bell Directories, has been appointed to fill a vacancy on the Westminster school board.
Morgan takes the seat vacated by Janis Smith, who resigned on Aug. 31. Fifteen people applied for her job, and Morgan was among three finalists.
Morgan served on the Westminster School District’s Budget Committee and on the Open Enrollment Committee. He served 10 years as a Boy Scouts of America adult adviser and volunteer, and has been an instructor and volunteer for the American Red Cross.
If no petition challenging Morgan’s appointment is filed by Oct. 28, the legal deadline, he will serve until the regular school board election in November, 1990.
